Silverberg Ties Wins Record, Diplomats Cruise

CARLISLE, Pa. – With his 6-3, 6-2 victory in singles competition on Saturday afternoon, Ross Silverberg has moved into a first-place tie atop Franklin & Marshall's all-time wins list as the Diplomats cruised to a 8-1 Centennial Conference (CC) victory over Dickinson. F&M improved to 11-8, 8-1 CC on the season, while the Red Devils fell to 5-12, 4-5 CC.

Silverberg has now accumulated a 66-21 record over four seasons and is tied with Sherif Abdel-Misih '97 for the school mark. Franklin & Marshall's No. 1 singles player will get an opportunity to stand alone in first when the No. 2 seed Diplomats take on No. 3 Haverford this Saturday in the CC Semifinals.

At the No. 2 spot, William MacArthur outlasted Chris Mueller-Wolf by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, before Tommy Weibye captured a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3. Doug Kaplan followed at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1 win before Nolan Bacchieri defeated John Kneisley 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot.

F&M swept doubles play as MacArthur and Bacchieri led off at the No. 1 position with an 8-3 win. Silverberg teamed up with Weibye at No. 2 to down Joey Frank and Erik Dinardo of Dickinson 8-4. Kaplan and Samuel Stone closed out play by outdueling Ari Blask and Mueller-Wolf by a score of 9-8.

The CC Semifinal game against Haverford will take place Saturday afternoon. The match's start time has yet to be determined.
