Diplomats Fall in CC Semifinal

LANCASTER, Pa. –The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team fell to Haverford 5-3 on Saturday afternoon in the Centennial Conference (CC) semifinals. The Diplomats' season comes to a close with an 11-9 mark, while the Fords (11-6) advance to face off against Johns Hopkins in tomorrow's CC Championship.

F&M started out the match strong when William MacArthur and Nolan Bacchieri teamed up to down Haverford's Kevin Caulfield and Danny Himelstein 9-7 in double's competition. The Ford's followed with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to pull ahead 2-1 heading into singles play.

In singles play, Haverford picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 before Tommy Weibye earned a 6-4, 6-0 victory for the Diplomats at No. 3. Nolan Bacchieri was also strong for F&M at the No. 5 position, taking down Zack Mason by a score of 6-1, 6-4.

However, the Diplomats comeback bid fell short as Haverford closed out singles play with a win at No. 6 to advance to the finals.

The Fords will meet Johns Hopkins tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. for the CC Championship.
