F&M Sinks Shoremen; Advances to CC Semifinal

MANHEIM, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team blanked Washington 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the Centennial Conference (CC) first round. The match was played to decision at the Spooky Nook Sport Complex in Manheim, Pa. due to rain in the area. The Diplomats improved their overall record to 11-6, while the Shoremen ended their season at 8-9.

F&M breezed through doubles action as William MacArthur and Nolan Bacchieri led the way at No. 1 with an 8-1 drubbing. Doug Kaplan and Tommy Weibye put together an 8-6 victory at No. 2, while Joshua Kane and Parint Lertdumrikam captured an 8-4 win at No. 3.

Singles play was largely unfinished as the match was played to decision. Kaplan earned a straight-set victory at the No. 2 spot with a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Kane downed Jeremy Novick at No. 4 by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
