EWING, NJ - Clutch wins in singles and doubles helped Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team to drop TCNJ 5-4 in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon for its fifth straight victory. The Diplomats improved to 8-3, while TCNJ fell to 6-4.
In singles play, in the No. 1 spot, William MacArthur continued to roll and picked up a victory by a 6-0, 6-2 score, while Doug Kaplan was also victorious at No. 3 with a 7-5, 7-5 victory. Nolan Bacchieri defeated Gabe Allen in the No. 3 position by a score of 6-2, 6-3 to help the Diplomats.
In doubles action, MacArthur and Bacchieri teamed up at the No. 1 position for an 8-6 win, while Tommy Weibye and Kaplan combined at No. 2 doubles for an 8-6 win for F&M.
The Diplomats return to Centenial Conference (CC) action on Tuesday when F&M travels to take on No. 5 Johns Hopkins at 4:00 p.m.
