Johns Hopkins Downs Diplomats in CC Semifinals

BALTIMORE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team fell to Johns Hopkins 5-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Centennial Conference (CC) semifinals. The match was played to decision as the Diplomats' season comes to a close with an 11-7 record, matching their win total from last season, while the Blue Jays (17-4) advance to tomorrow's CC Championship against Swarthmore.

In doubles play, Johns Hopkins' Michael Buxbaum and Emerson Walsh teamed up to down F&M's William MacArthur and Nolan Bacchieri 8-2 in the No. 1 spot, while the Blue Jays' Tanner Brown and Erik Lim narrowly downed the Diplomats' Tommy Weibye and Doug Kaplan 8-5 in the No. 2 position.

Singles play went largely unfinished as the match was played to decision. At the No. 1 spot, MacArthur was leading Ben Hwang 6-2, 2-3, however the match went unfinished. Kaplan and Joshua Kane were also winning but their matches could not be finished.
