Franklin & Marshall's men's soccer team landed the No. 1 ranking in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and D3soccer.com polls, marking the first time in school history the Diplomats reached the top of either list.

No other Centennial Conference (CC) team has ever reached No. 1 in the D3Soccer.com poll, which started back in 2010. F&M is also only the second team in CC history to reach the top spot in the NSCAA poll, with Swarthmore receiving the honor in 2010.

The Diplomats will look to continue its unbeaten streak on the season with a non-conference matchup against DeSales on Wednesday and a Centennial Conference (CC) tilt against McDaniel on Saturday.

Series History: The Diplomats enter Wednesday's contest riding a five-game winning streak over DeSales and haven't lost to the Bulldogs since 1995. Last time out, F&M earned the 1-0 shutout with Chris Scott's game-winning goal in the 83rd minute on Oct. 8 of last year. To read the full recap, click here

The Diplomats' win streak against McDaniel stands at nine, dating back to 2005. On Oct. 11 of last year, a pair of late goals by Connor Finn (71st minute) and Chase TenBrook (84th) propelled F&M to a 2-0 blanking of the Green Terror. The all-time series lead belongs to the Diplomats at 47-30-1. To read the full recap, click here.

Last Week: Two contests were on F&M's slate a week ago, however only one came to fruition, a 2-1 2OT victory against Ursinus at home on Wednesday. Saturday's matchup against Muhlenberg was postponed due to poor weather conditions causing havoc to the Mules' grass field. That contest was rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 7:00 p.m.

Against the Bears, Alex Bilodeau's first collegiate goal, just 29 seconds into the second overtime stanza, allowed F&M to stay undefeated on the year. Devon Malfitano scored the Diplomats' other goal on the afternoon, a double-assisted tally in the 16th minute.

The shot count heavily favored the Diplomats at 18-6, including a 10-1 edge past the first half. Corners also belonged to F&M at 7-1. Goalkeeper Trevor Britton (10-0) was solid in net, stopping one shot in 100 minutes of action.

Among the Leaders (NCAA): F&M's shutdown defense ranks among the best in the nation in several statistical categories, placing 13th in goals against average (0.39) and eighth in shutout percentage (70 percent).

Among the Leaders (CC): Several Diplomats find their names among the conference leaders, with Chase TenBrook leading the team and placing fourth in the CC with 13 points and tied for second with six goals.

Ugo Okolie is sixth with 11 points and four goals. Janse Schermerhorn's five assists and Okolie's three helpers place the duo in fourth and fifth, respectively, in the CC. Britton stands in first, and is fifth in the nation, with his 0.30 goals against average and second in the CC with a .824 save percentage in net.

Record Book Watch: Britton enters the week with 26 career wins, which places him fifth on the program's all-time list. Zach Zamek '10 leads the way with 41. The senior goalkeeper's 18 shutouts are tied for second, a record that also belongs to Zamek with 25.

TenBrook continues to climb the ladder in several offensive categories and currently places 12th in career points (53), 11th in career goals (22) and eighth in game-winning scores (4).

Tylus Win Streak: Entering play this week, F&M has not dropped a regular-season contest at home since Oct. 2, 2013 in a 2-1 overtime loss to Ursinus, a streak that spans 19 contests.

Regular-Season Unbeaten Streak: The Diplomats have also not lost a regular-season contest in 30 straight games, a mark that dates back to Oct. 19, 2013 in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Haverford.
