F&M Splits; Wraps Up Spring Break Action

ORLANDO, Fla. – Franklin & Marshall finished off its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. by blanking Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday 9-0 before falling to SCAD – Atlanta 6-3 on Thursday. The Diplomats' record now sits at 2-4 before F&M returns home and begins Centennial Conference (CC) action.

On Wednesday against the Chargers, the day began with Doug Kaplan and Jack Rothman teaming up at No. 1 doubles and downing Andrew Peloquin and Justin Pinard 8-2 and Nolan Bacchieri and Vasant Rajamanickam handled their opponents 8-2 from te No. 2 spot. At No. 3 doubles, Will Samuels and Evan Drapeau were dominant, winning 8-1.

Kaplan followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 1 singles position, while Bacchieri breezed through Ryan Broderick 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. After Samuels was victorious at No. 4 by a score 6-3, 6-0, Rajamanickam won 6-2. 7-4 at No. 5 and Hamza Pataudi cruised past Clay Allen at No. 6 6-1, 6-0.

Against the Bees, the day began with Kaplan and Rothman downing Mikaiah Vea and Stephen Craig 8-2. Then in singles action, Kaplan was against victorious from the No. 1 position 6-3, 6-7 (5-7) 1-0 (8-6). Pataudi also won his match at No. 5 due to his opponent retiring due to injury. The score was 2-6, 4-0 before Takaai Imoto retired.

F&M opens up CC play on Saturday, when the Diplomats welcome Muhlenberg to Lancaster at 1:00 p.m.
