F&M Stays Perfect in CC Play with Win Over Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall won its third consecutive Centennial Conference (CC) match on Tuesday afternoon in men's tennis action, as the Diplomats downed Ursinus 6-3. F&M jumped to 5-4, 3-0 CC, while the Bears fell to 8-5, 0-2 CC.

In singles play, Nolan Bacchieri edged out Tyler Arsenault 2-6, 7-6 (6-4), 10-7 at the No. 2 spot, and Jack Rothman blanked Henry Burke at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. Will Samuels also breezed through his opponent at No. 4 by a score of 6-0, 6-2, while Vasant Rajamanickam downed Peter Shields 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4 position. Reigning CC Player of the Week Doug Kaplan battled Caleb Kramer, but eventually fell 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 from the No. 1 singles spot.

At No. 2 doubles, Bacchieri and Rajamickam teamed up to defeat Burke and Dalton Lynch 8-4, while Samuels and Evan Drapeau edged Shields and Mike Melchiorre 9-7 at No. 3.

F&M looks to continue its CC success on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to McDaniel for a 1:00 p.m. match.
