LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall dominated Gettysburg 8-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 7-8, 5-3 CC and can clnch a CC playoff berth with a win against Dickinson on Saturday, while the Bullets dropped to 3-9, 0-8 CC.
Nolan Bacchieri and Vasant Rajamanickam teamed up at No. 1 doubles and edged Wesley Craft and Dave Musser 8-5, while Doug Kaplan and Will Samuels were victorious at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-4.
F&M swept the competition in singles action, as Doug Kaplan was impressive at the No. 1 spot, winning 6-3, 6-1, while Bacchieri won at No. 2 6-3, 6-2. Jack Rothman was victorious at the No. 3 position at 6-4, 6-2, and Will Samuels won at the No. 4 spot by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Rajamanickam (No. 5) and Hamza Pataudi (No. 6) rounded out the wins for the Diplomats, winning 6-2, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively.
F&M travels to Dickinson on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and get clinch the No. 4 seed with a win.
