CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall locked up a Centennial Conference (CC) playoff spot with a 7-2 victory over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved their record to 8-8, 6-3 CC, while the Red Devils fell to 8-5, 6-3 CC.
F&M began the day going 3-for-3 in doubles action, beginning with an 8-6 win at the No. 1 spot by Nolan Bacchieri and Vasant Rajamanickam. Doug Kaplan and Will Samuels teamed up at the No. 2 position and downed Joey Frank and Erik Dinardo 8-4, while Jack Rothman and Hamza Pataudi edged out Josh Kaseff and Evan Davis 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Kaplan defeated his younger brother, Steven Kaplan, 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot, and Bacchieri downed Frank 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2. Will Samuels downed Shawn Diniz 6-4, 7-6 (7-0) at the No. 4 position, while Pataudi was victorious at No. 6 by a score of 6-3, 6-3.
