LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 29 Franklin & Marshall hosted No. 22 Swarthmore on Saturday afternoon for a crucial Centennial Conference men's tennis matchup, dropping a tight 5-4 decision to the Garnet.
The Diplomats fell to 12-3, 5-2 CC while Swarthmore improved to 11-5, 6-0 CC.
By the Numbers
The Garnet took a slim lead after doubles play, claiming two of three matches to take a 2-1 advantage. Inigo Flores and Vasant Rajamanickam earned a point for F&M, tallying an 8-5 decision at No. 2.
The Diplomats took three of six singles matches, ultimately falling just one match short of the Garnet. Doug Kaplan, the lone F&M senior, celebrated his Senior Day with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1.
