HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford won five of six singles matches to defeat Franklin & Marshall 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action. The Diplomats fell to 13-4, 5-3 CC with the loss while the Fords improved to 12-2, 6-1 CC with the victory.

By the Numbers

F&M got off the mark quickly, taking two of three singles matches to carry a 2-1 lead into singles action. Zack Levin and Isaac Salas put together an 8-5 win at No. 2, while Inigo Flores and Giovanni Corrado squeezed out a 9-7 victory at No. 3.

However, the tide turned in singles play. Doug Kaplan's 6-1, 6-4 decision at was the only Diplomat win as the Fords clinched a 6-3 victory overall.

Today's loss means that the Diplomats are locked into the No. 4-5 matchup in the opening round of the CC Playoffs. Saturday's match with Dickinson, scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Brooks Tennis Center, will determine whether or not F&M will be the four or five seed.
