CHESTERTOWN, Md. – No. 26 Franklin & Marshall continued to get key production from the bottom of the lineup en route to a 6-3 victory over Washington on Saturday night in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action. With the win, their ninth in a row, the Diplomats are now 9-1 overall and 2-0 CC, while the Shoremen fell to 2-8, 1-1 CC.
F&M's hot start to the season has the Diplomats ranked 26th in the nation, marking the first time that the team has appeared in the national rankings since April of 2012. F&M was ranked No. 26 then as well.
By the Numbers
The Diplomats opened up a 2-1 lead after doubles play, getting victories at No. 2 and 3. Vasant Rajamanickam and Inigo Flores were dominant at No. 2, earning an 8-3 decision, while Zack Levin and Isaac Salas also turned in a strong performance at No. 3, winning 8-4.
F&M wrapped up the win with victories at No. 3-6 singles. Jack Rothman's 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3 clinched the match for the Diplomats.
