MOOSIC, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team is currently holding the lead at the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournament with a team score of 17-over after Saturday. However, the Diplomats did not get to play a full round as play was suspended at 6 p.m. with all five of the team's golfers on the back nine.
First-year Shane Lawler and Dominic Sculti made it through 17 holes and are leading the field. Lawler is two-over while Sculti sits at three-over. Swarthmore's Jackson Murphy is also at three-over through 17 holes in the battle for the lead. Roy Anderson is sitting in fourth place with a score of five-over through 16 holes. Jas Fuhrer's round sits at seven-over through 14 holes while Michael Gallagher saw his round suspended at nine-over following the 16th hole.
The tournament will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with the second round to follow after the official completion of round one. The Diplomats are currently 15 shots to par ahead of Swarthmore as the Garnet also have three players still looking to finish their rounds. Only Scranton (+39), Marywood (+44), and New Jersey City (+122) were able to get their entire team through 18 holes on the first day.
