LANCASTER, Pa. – Getting to play on its home courts for the first time this season, the Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team certainly made the most of its opportunity as the Diplomats (2-1, 2-1 CC) won 8-1 versus visiting Muhlenberg (1-1, 1-1 CC). The Diplomats remain just one match off of the Centennial Conference leaders after handing Muhlenberg its first defeat of the 2021 season.

By the Numbers

The Diplomats got off to a quick lead with back-to-back 8-2 wins at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Justin Pace and Tristan Steffe got the win during the middle doubles match while Isaac Rockower and Anthony Casale picked up the point at No. 3. Only a tiebreak loss at the top doubles match kept the Diplomats from a clean sweep on the afternoon.

All six singles matches went to the Diplomats in straight sets. Justin Pace allowed just one game at No. 3 while Anthony Casale conceded two at No. 6 to wrap up the afternoon. Sam Bellersen and Adrian Charchalis won the top two matches while Adith Chandavarkar blanked his opponent during the second set at No. 4. Tristan Steffe put the finishing touches on the singles sweep with a hard-fought 7-5 second set victory during his match at No. 5.
