Men's Tennis Sweeps Singles To Dispatch Ursinus, 7-2

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Down 2-1 after doubles, Franklin & Marshall men's tennis swept through all six singles matches to clinch a 7-2 victory over Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Tuesday night.

The #3 pairing of Anthony Casale and Pedro Norte pulled through again with a hard fought 8-6 win to nab a point for the Diplomats in doubles.

F&M had an easier time in singles, winning all six matches in straight set victories. Issac Rockower evened the score at 2-2 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at #4. Justin Pace gave the Diplomats the lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #2, followed a minute later by Anthony Casale's 6-4, 6-4 victory at #6. Pedro Norte clinched the Diplomat victory with his 6-0, 7-5 win at #5.

Tristan Steffe and Adrian Charchalis completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 and 7-5, 6-4 win at #1, respectively.

The Diplomats still have one final CC matchup remaining at Johns Hopkins on Friday at 4:00 p.m., but their playoff fate has been sealed as the fifth-seed in conference tourney. F&M will travel to Washington to face the Shoremen on Tuesday, May 3 in a CC First Round matchup.
