Men's Tennis Finishes Against Blue Jays, Prepares For Postseason

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Franklin & Marshall men's tennis starts postseason preparations after finishing up against Johns Hopkins this afternoon, ultimately falling 9-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) play. The Diplomats (7-7, 4-4 CC) came close to nabbing a point off the Blue Jays (13-1, 6-1 CC) at #6 singles, but fell short in their final CC match of the regular season.

The regionally top-ranked Blue Jays grabbed three quick points off of doubles, rolling to a pair of 8-4 wins at #2 and #3, and an 8-3 win at #1.

F&M came close to snagging a point from Anthony Casale's effort at #6, as the sophomore took the first set handily 6-2. Casale gave it a valiant effort, but dropped the next two sets 5-7, 7-10.

Justin Pace took his opponent to the brink at #2 singles, but a single break of serve was all that was needed to fall 7-5, 7-5. Adrian Charchalis also managed to take four games off of Thomas Yu, who is ranked second in the ITA Atlantic South Region.

The Diplomats now prepare for the CC postseason, travelling to Washington for a first round match on Tuesday, May 3.
