LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team hosted Division I Villanova on Wednesday afternoon at the Brooks Tennis Center. The Diplomats came away with the victory at No. 1 singles as first-years Zac Ashtiani and Luke Brodsky teamed up for an 8-3 win. However, it was the visiting Wildcats who came away with the team score by an 8-1 final.

F&M's rookie pairing at the top of the lineup improved its season record to 3-3 together at No. 1 doubles. Both players now have four total doubles wins on the year. Brodsky nearly took a set in singles action as well, dropping a hard-fought 6-4 second to his opponent at No. 4 in the lineup. Pedro Norte was another player to come up just shy of claiming a set with his 6-4 opening set at No. 5 singles.

Following back-to-back matches at home this week, Franklin & Marshall will have a week to prepare for its next Centennial Conference match at Dickinson on Wednesday, March 29. That CC matchup is set for a 4 p.m. start in Carlisle.
