Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall baseball team has unveiled its 2024 slate that is set to begin on February 17 when it hosts Clarkson for a doubleheader at War Memorial Field in Ephrata, Pa. The Diplomats' schedule features 15 non-conference opponents, 17 home games, 14 road games, and nine neutral site contests.

The aforementioned doubleheader against Clarkson will be the ninth time these programs meet with the Diplomats defeating the Golden Knights twice during the 2022 season. It will also be the first time Franklin & Marshall returns to War Memorial Field since 2020. F&M then heads to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to battle Penn State Harrisburg on February 24. The Lions will be the first of four opponents that are receiving votes in the D3Baseball Preseason Top 25 Poll that F&M will face this year. The other three teams include Montclair State, Augustana, and Babson. The Diplomats wrap-up their trip with two games against North Carolina on February 24 and 25.

F&M returns home to host Montclair State for a doubleheader on March 2. The Diplomats then head to Montclair, New Jersey to complete the three-game series against the Red Hawks on March 3. Franklin & Marshall plays York (Pa.) on the road on March 5 before beginning its spring break trip.

After an undefeated trip to Fort Myers, Florida last season, the Diplomats return to compete in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic during spring break. F&M is set to face Augustana (Mar. 9), No. 3 Baldwin Wallace (Mar. 10), University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Mar. 11 and 16), Babson (Mar. 12), Skidmore (Mar. 14), and Merchant Marine (Mar. 15). Returning to Pennsylvania, the Diplomats start a two-game road trip with games at Cairn (Mar. 20) and Albright (Mar. 21). F&M then hosts Rutgers-Newark for a doubleheader on March 23, followed by a home game against TCNJ on March 26 to conclude its non-conference slate.
F&M kicks-off Centennial Conference (CC) action with a home doubleheader against Swarthmore on March 30, followed by a home-and-home series against Gettysburg on April 2 and April 5. The Diplomats then play a doubleheader against McDaniel on the road (April 6) before playing Ursinus on April 9 and April 12. F&M rolls into a three-game home stand with matchups against Muhlenberg (Apr. 13) and Washington College (Apr. 16). Franklin & Marshall completes its series with the Shoremen on April 19.

After Franklin & Marshall hosts Haverford on April 20, the Diplomats play another home-and-home series against Dickinson (Apr. 23 and 26). F&M concludes the regular season with a road doubleheader at No. 1-ranked Johns Hopkins on April 27.

The Centennial Conference Tournament begins on April 30 and runs to May 7. The NCAA Tournament will start on May 17 and continue through the NCAA Super Regionals towards the end of the month. The tournament then shifts to the College World Series, hosted at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio, on May 31 to June 8.
Franklin & Marshall begins the 2024 season led by 11th-year head coach Ryan Horning, who is 10 wins away from 200 in his career. He returns with second team all-CC honorees Dan Galef (RHP) and Jakob Hoffman (DH/1B), while Spencer Berson (OF), Bobby Falese (SS), and Shane Rebane (RHP) received honorable mention recognition in 2023. Falese and Hoffman will look solidify their name on top of the F&M record books for career home runs. Both seniors currently are tied for first with 14 homers in their tenure at Franklin & Marshall.
