PHILADELPHIA – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team opened up play at the Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational on Friday.
The Diplomats earned wins in both singles and doubles to highlight the day one action which featured several matchups against Division I opponents. Samuel Donnelly earned F&M's win in singles in he defeated Bryant's Josh Steere by a 6-3, 6-4 score before falling in the round of 16 by consecutive 6-4 scores.
Franklin & Marshall's victory in doubles came when Campbell Gervais and Tommy Hicks received a walkover victory and advanced to the round of 16 where they will take on Temple during Saturday's action.
The Saint Joseph's Invitational will continue Saturday and Sunday.
