Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Saturday. Competing against several Division I schools, the Diplomats had a pair of doubles teams in round of 16 action, while the pairing of Tucker Chesman and Dylan Maudsley earned a win during consolation play.
The Chesman/Maudsley pairing ended their tournament on a high note as they defeated Harford Community College's pairing in the Gray Doubles draw by a 6-3 score. Carl Kamdin and Soren Rudin-Aulenbach were also in consolation action against Harford Community College Saturday, with the Fighting Owls earning a 6-2 win in that matchup.
F&M had two more doubles teams still alive in the Crimson Doubles draw with Zac Ashtiani/Gonzalo Gentou and Campbell Gervais/Tommy Hicks. The pairing of Ashtiani and Gervais took down Drexel by a 6-0 blanking before falling to Jefferson by a hard-fought 6-4 score during the quarterfinal round. Gervais and Hicks lost to their opponents from Temple by a 6-1 score to be eliminated for the championship draw of that bracket.
Men's tennis will conclude its fall season this coming Saturday, October 12 when the Diplomats compete against Division I Lafayette. That dual match is set to get underway at 12 p.m. in Easton.
