Box Score BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team fell in its road match against Villanova, 7-0, Friday evening at the Bryn Mawr Racquet Club.
The Diplomats battled in the doubles matches, but were swept to start the contest. The duo of
Zac Ashtiani and
Anthony Casale were knocked off in the first doubles match, 7-5. Meanwhile, the pairing of
Gonzalo Gentou and
Pedro Norte kept it close in the middle doubles match, but were also downed 7-5.
Luke Brodsky and
Campbell Gervais had the closest score of the three doubles matches, but were overpowered 7(7)-6(3) to fall in the contest.
Brodsky pieced together the toughest singles match on the day for the Diplomats as he jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a 6-2 win. However, his opponent came back to claim the next two sets and win the second singles match.
Franklin & Marshall heads to Ewing, New Jersey on Saturday to face TCNJ at 4:00 p.m.
