Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The No. 39 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule competing in the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday. The Diplomats faced both Bloomsburg and Lafayette in one final challenge before setting their sights on the spring season.

The Diplomats picked up two wins in doubles against Bloomsburg, highlighted by the duo of Nate Arnold and Jack Gelman blanking their opponents, 4-0, 4-0. The pairing of Ian Alonso and Tommy Hicks followed by downing the Huskies, 4-1, 4-1.

F&M earned 10 victories in singles on the day with Samuel Donnelly earning wins against both Bloomsburg and Lafayette. Donnelly defeated Bloomsburg, 4-0, 4-0, before holding off Lafayette, 4-0, 5-3. Alonso also earned two singles victories with both his wins coming against Lafayette. Alonso won his first match, 4-0, 5(4)-4, before controlling the second match 5-4(3), 4-0. Zac Ashtiani outlasted his opponent against Bloomsburg, 5-4(5), 4-5(5), 10-8, to win a thriller. Tucker Chesman (5-4(5), 0-4, 10-8), Hicks (4-5(5), 4-1, 10-3), and Hugh Outwater (4-1, 4-5(5), 10-8) also came out on top of their three-set thrillers against the Huskies. Gelman overpowered his opponent from Lafayette, 4-2, 6(6)-4, while Arnold rolled past the Leopards, 4-0, 4-1.

Franklin & Marshall now turns its attention to the spring season beginning on Saturday, February 14 at Mary Washington.
