FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The No. 39 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team finished up a great weekend showing at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by Mary Washington. The Diplomats played three five matches in the Championship Doubles Consolation Bracket and one match in the B1 Singles Consolation Bracket on Saturday to conclude the tournament.
The pairing of
Luke Brodsky and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach defeated their opponents from Carnegie Mellon, 8-6, in the Round of 16 before falling to Dickinson in the Quarterfinals.
Jack Gelman and
Hugh Outwater also earned a win in the Round of 16, defeating Stevens by walkover. The duo then fell, 8-5, to their opponents from Haverford in the quarterfinal round.
Nate Arnold and
Zac Ashtiani fought hard in the Round of 16, but were defeated by their opponents from Mary Washington, 8-2.
Jack Gelman was the lone Diplomat to compete in singles matches on the Day. Gelman kept it close the entire match, but fell just short in an 8(7)-7(3) loss to Moravian's Shayaan Farhad.
Franklin & Marshall now gets set to compete in the Bloomsburg Invitational, starting on Saturday, October
