Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 38 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (2-1) began its Spring Break trip to Florida with a narrow 4-3 victory over No. 39 Skidmore (3-2) Sunday afternoon at the Sanlando Tennis Center.
The Diplomats jumped out to an early lead, claiming wins in two of the three doubles matches. The pairing of
Zac Ashtiani and
Gonzalo Gentou downed their opponent, 6-1, for their third win together this season.
Luke Brodsky and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach won the middle doubles match, 6-3, for their second win as a duo this season.
Samuel Donnelly continued his strong start to the season with a 6-4, 7(7)-6(4) victory in the No. 3 singles match for his fourth individual win this year. Brodsky outlasted his opponent, 6-2, 6(4)-7(7), 1(10)-0(2), in the No. 1 singles match for his third win this spring. Rudin-Aulenbach overpowered his opponent in the No. 5 match, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5, to win his third singles' win this season.
Jack Gelman wrapped up the Diplomats' singles' wins with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the No. 6 match for his third individual win this year.
No. 38 Franklin & Marshall now gets set to square off with (RV) North Central on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
