Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (6-5, 1-2 CC) was held off by Haverford (5-4, 3-1 CC) in a 4-3 loss in Sunday's Centennial Conference (CC) at the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. The Fords took two of the three doubles matches before claiming wins in the top-three singles matches to hold onto the victory.
F&M avoided being swept in the doubles matches with a win in the No. 2 doubles match. The tandem of
Sahara Ahmad and
Natalie Untermeyer cruised past their opponent with a 6-1 victory for their seventh win of the season.
The Diplomats then earned three wins in the bottom-three singles matches to wrap up Sunday's contest. Untermeyer tallied her eighth individual win of the season as she downed her opponent, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 4 match.
Sophia Rhazali and
Rebecca Bellick earned victories in their respective matches as both Diplomats improved to seven singles' wins this spring. Rhazali defeated her opponent in the No. 5 match, 8-4, before Bellick upended her opponent, 8-1, in the No. 6 match.
Franklin & Marshall now heads to Muhlenberg on Saturday to face the Mules at 1:00 p.m.
