LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team prepares to begin its 2026 season on Saturday at No. 23 Mary Washington, starting at 1:30 p.m. Head coach
Bruce Myers gets set to begin his first season at the helm of the Franklin & Marshall tennis program.
Top Returners
Sophia Rhazali, junior: Earned 13 wins in singles during the 2025 season, tying the team-high. Rhazali finished last year with seven wins, primarily playing in the No. 3 match. The junior earned Centennial Conference (CC) Athlete of the Week honors in mid-March last spring.
Rebecca Bellick, senior: Tallied a 12-2 record in singles, while earning a perfect 7-0 record against CC opponents. Bellick also notched a victory in her lone double match last year, winning the No. 1 match against Connecticut College.
Sahara Ahmad, sophomore: Named an All-CC honorable mention for both singles and doubles in 2025. Ahmad tallied nine wins in singles last season, competing primarily in the No. 2 match. Ahmad recorded 12 victories in doubles last spring, which was the second-most on the team.
Natalie Untermeyer, sophomore: Named an All-Centennial honorable mention for both singles and doubles last season. Untermeyer recorded a team-high 13 singles' victories with 11 wins coming in dual matches. The sophomore also posted a team-best 14-3 record in doubles, earning 11 wins in the No. 2 match last year.
The Roster
F&M brings a young, but experienced team into the 2026 season. Franklin & Marshall looks to make another strong postseason push, a year after appearing in the CC Championship match. The Diplomats' roster consists of two seniors (
Rebecca Bellick and
Amelia Squires), five juniors (
Kakie Colclough,
Erin Joo,
Sarah Miller,
Sophia Rhazali, and
Lorena Saavedra), three sophomore (
Sahara Ahmad,
Sophia Carson, and
Natalie Untermeyer), and one first-year athlete (
Cynthia Li).
In the Polls
Franklin & Marshall was selected third in the Centennial Conference Coaches Preseason Poll with 51 points. Swarthmore was picked in the top spot in the poll with 63 points and seven first-place votes. Haverford came in second in the poll, receiving 57 points and two first-place votes.

The Road Ahead
After its match against Mary Washington on Saturday, F&M continues on the road against Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 21), TCNJ (Feb. 28), and Stevens (Mar. 8). The Diplomats host their home opener on March 13, welcoming New York University to campus. F&M then heads to Orlando, Florida for three matches during its spring break. F&M will face Connecticut College (Mar. 15), Denison (Mar. 16), and William Smith (Mar. 17) during their time in the Sunshine State.
Franklin & Marshall starts Centennial Conference play on March 29 against Swarthmore, followed by a road match against Gettysburg on April 1. The Diplomats play at Haverford on April 3, before returning home to play Muhlenberg on April 11. F&M travels to Washington College on April 15, followed by a home match against Bryn Mawr on April 18. The Diplomats wrap up the 2026 regular season against non-conference Johns Hopkins, before playing CC foes Dickinson and Ursinus.

The Centennial Conference Tournament will be held on April 28 through May 2. The NCAA Tournament will be held on May 8 through May 21. The NCAA Singles/Doubles Championships will follow on May 22 to May 25 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
