Women's Tennis Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District® Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Four members of the Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team placed on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Sahara Ahmad, Rebecca Bellick, Lorena Saavedra, and Natalie Untermeyer all represented F&M on the Academic All-District® Team. Bellick was recognized for the third-straight season, while Ahmad, Saavedra, and Untermeyer all earned spots on the CSC Academic All-District® team for the first time in their respective careers.
 
Ahmad earned second team All-CC honors for both singles and doubles this season. In singles, Ahmad earned eight wins, primarily competing in the No. 2 match. The sophomore also led the team in doubles' victories with 12, ending the year playing in the No. 1 match.
 
Bellick was selected as an all-conference honorable mention for singles, while earning second team All-Centennial recognition for doubles. Bellick ended the year with most singles' victories on the team with 14, playing in No. 3 singles. The senior also posted 11 wins in doubles, playing primarily in the No. 1 match.
 
Saavedra ended her year with five total wins in singles and three victories in CC matches. The junior also notched seven wins in doubles, playing primarily in the No. 3 match.
 
Untermeyer finished the season earning second team All-CC honors for doubles, recording eight total victories. Untermeyer also had a great year in singles, registering nine wins with four CC victories, primarily playing in the No. 1 match.
 
Franklin & Marshall ended its season with a 9-9 overall record with a 6-2 Centennial Conference record, concluding the year ranked at No. 41 in the nation.
