Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 37 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (3-2) secured its first sweep of the season as it eased past Hobart (5-1), 7-0, Tuesday afternoon. The Diplomats won two of the three doubles matches, before claiming wins in all six singles matches.
The pairing of
Gonzalo Gentou and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach held off their opponents in the No. 3 doubles match, 7(7)-6(4), for their third win together this year. The duo of
Zac Ashtiani and
Luke Brodsky eased past their opponents in the No. 1 match, 6-3, for their second victory together this spring.
Samuel Donnelly started the singles matches by earning a three-set victory, 6-3, 4-6, 11-9, in the No. 3 match for his sixth win of the season. Brodsky and Rudin-Aulenbach both tallied their fourth singles' victories this year. Brodsky earned a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 1 match, while Rudin-Aulenbach recorded a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 match.
Nate Arnold, Ashtiani, and Gentou all registered their third wins of the season. Arnold defeated his opponent, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 5 match, while Ashtiani overpowered his opponent in the No. 2 match, 6-4, 7(7)-6(5). Gentou ended the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 6 match.
No. 37 Franklin & Marshall will have a split-squad on Wednesday. At 5:30 p.m., the Diplomats face Colby-Sawyer and No. 34 Hamilton.
