LANCASTER, Pa. – For the first time in his career, Zac Ashtiani of the Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. Ashtiani became the fourth Diplomat to win the weekly award this season, following teammates Luke Brodsky, Samuel Donnelly, and Soren Rudin-Aulenbach.

Ashtiani recorded two singles' wins, highlighted by a victory over a nationally-ranked opponent last week. Going against No. 6 Johns Hopkins, Ashtiani took down Dylan Blenkiron, who currently ranks No. 48 in the nation and No. 9 in the Atlantic South Region. Ashtiani jumped out to an early lead with a 6-4 win in the first set. After his opponent evened the score, the Tiburon, California native secured the victory with a win in the 10-point tie break.

Earlier in the week, Ashtiani won the No. 1 singles match against Gettysburg, 6-3, 6-3. Teaming up with Brodsky, the duo earned a 6-1 victory in the No.1 doubles match en route to the Diplomats' 7-0 sweep over the Bullets.

Ashtiani currently has eight singles' wins and eight doubles' victories this season.
