LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College women's tennis team improved to 6-1 on the season, 2-0 in Centennial Conference play, with a 6-3 victory at Haverford College.
The win marks the 20th in 21 meetings for the Diplomats over the Fords (3-3, 1-3 Centennial Conference) and the 14th straight since Haverford's sole victory in the series in 1991.
In singles, #1 Katie Gaskins (So., Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) downed Laura Chaddock 6-2, 6-3, while Barbara Bee (So., Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) defeated Allison Scherb at #3 and Marie Papalia (Sr., Chatham, NJ/Chatham) notched a victory by default at #2 versus Sarah Loeffler to lead the Diplomats.
Franklin & Marshall (6-1, 2-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 2 at home versus McDaniel College. Match time is set for noon.
