LANCASTER, PA - Katie Gaskins (Jr., Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) recorded a 6-3, 6-3 victory at #1 singles and teamed with Barbara Bee (Jr., Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) to record an 8-4 win at #1 doubles to lead the Franklin & Marshall College women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over visiting Haverford College in the Centennial Conference opener at the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
Playing indoors due to sub-50 degree temperatures, the Diplomats picked up their fifth victory of the season and their first in the Centennial Conference this year as Franklin & Marshall improved to 21-1 all-time against the Fords (5-3, 1-1 Centennial Conference).
The Diplomats swept the doubles matches and captured five of the six singles matches for the 8-1 win as the victory marked the 15th consecutive victory for Franklin & Marshall over Haverford.
Franklin & Marshall (5-1, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on March 28 at Dickinson College. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
