COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team opened the Centennial Conference portion of its slate with a 7-2 win over Ursinus on Friday afternoon. The match was a make-up from Wednesday's postponement.

The Diplomats took five of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to improve to 4-2 (1-0 CC). Ursinus dropped to 1-4 (0-1 CC).

Katie Gaskins improved to 7-3 on the season by way of a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jenna Hope. The win was her third in as many matches. Dani Barish and Jenna Ishkanian each also won their third consecutive. Barish (6-3) defeated the Bears' Pam Odorizzi 6-4, 6-3 at third singles, while Ishkanian (3-1) was a 6-2 winner over Emily Malinoswki.

Gaskins combined with Dana Russo for the pair's first doubles win of the season, an 8-5 win in the first position. Christina Henkel and Ishkanian came away with an 8-2 win in their first match together. They played in the second doubles flight.

Russo improved to 4-4, and Henkel to 3-2 in singles competition winning at fourth and sixth singles, respectively.

The Diplomats continue their suburban Philadelphia weekend with a Saturday match at Haverford. The first serve is set for noon.
