HAVERFORD, Pa. -
Franklin & Marshall picked up its second Centennial Conference win in as many days dealing Haverford a 6-3 defeat in women's tennis Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats took five of the six singles matches en route to the victory to improve to 5-2 (2-0 CC). Haverford fell to 2-5 (0-2 CC).
Katie Gaskins, Dani Barish, and Jenna Ishkanian each won their fourth straight match. Gaskins rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win at first singles, while Barish took a tightly contested match at fourth singles winning 7-5, 6-7, 7-6
Ishkanian dropped just a pair of games in cruising to victory at sixth singles. She teamed up with Barbara Bee for F&M's only win in doubles competition, an 8-2 win at second doubles over Karen Lavi and Sarah Loeffler.
Bee won her third singles match in as many outings winning 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) in the second position, while Dana Russo made it two in a row winning 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) in the fifth flight.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Tuesday at Gettysburg.
