LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall ranked 15th in the South Atlantic Region, handily defeated Washington College, ranked ninth, 7-2 in Centennial Conference women's tennis Friday afternoon. The Diplomats remained unbeaten in Conference play this season at 4-0, with a mark of 7-2 overall. The Shorewomen dropped to 4-5, with a 2-1 mark having suffered its first Centennial setback.

The Diplomats swept doubles competition and took third through sixth singles in straight sets for the win. Dana Russo needed a second set tiebreaker to secure a win over Sarah Macht in the fifth position. Erica Wood (3rd), Dani Barish (4th) and Jenna Ishkanian (6th) rolled past their opponents. Barish and Ishkanian have each gone untarnished in their last six outings.

First singles saw a match as tightly contested as the rankings would indicate. Allison Daciek, ranked 31st in the region needed three sets to sneak past 36th ranked Katie Gaskins for one of Washington's two wins. Gaskins took the first set, but dropped the second set in a 7-2 tiebreaker. Daciek took the third 10-6.
