HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford's women's tennis
team handed Franklin & Marshall an 8-1 loss in Centennial
Conference (CC) action on Saturday. Haverford remained
unscathed in league action, moving to 4-3 (3-0 CC). The Diplomats
fell to 1-6 (1-1 CC).
No. 4 Valeri Harteg secured the lone F&M win on a 10-7
tiebreaker. She dropped the first set, 2-6, to Jaclyn Porter, but
rebounded with a 6-3 win in the second set to force the tiebreak.
Dana Russo also went to tiebreaker at No. 3. Helen Fisun took the
first set 6-1, but Russo returned the favor, taking the second set
by four. Fisun won the tiebreaker 10-5.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Monday when the
Diplomats host Ursinus in Centennial action.
