ORLANDO, Fla. – Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team finished its six game spring break trip 0-6 last week in Orlando. Victoria Lussier and Meryl Schulman highlighted the Diplomats' week with three wins in doubles.
Ambrose University dealt F&M a 6-3 setback in the Diplomats first match of the week. Lussier and Schulman picked up an 8-6 win in doubles and Shannon Littlefield and Meghan Maloney won their singles competitions for F&M.
Valeri Harteg earned F&M's only win against McMurry University in No. 1 singles. McMurry swept the doubles enroute to an 8-1 victory.
Lussier and Schulman provided all of the wins for F&M in a 6-3 loss to Lawrence University. The pair teamed to win No. 3 doubles 9-8(5) over Brenna Decker and Elizabeth Byers. Lussier won her No. 5 singles match over Martha McDonnell 6-2, 6-2 and Schulman took care of Decker, 6-2, 6-2, in No. 6 singles.
College of Coastal Georgia handed F&M a 7-2 defeat. Lussier and Schulman won their doubles match against Betsy Urman and Danielle Ontivero 8-6. Schulman was the lone winner in singles with a vicorty against Ontivero in No. 6 singles.
Berry College and Hamilton College both shutout the Diplomats 9-0 in F&M's final two matches of the week.
