YORK, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall fell 9-0 to Washington in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats fell to 0-8, 0-2 CC on the season, while the Shorewomen improved to 7-0, 3-0 CC.
Jordan Finnegan and Brittany Marshall posted an 8-6 win over Anya Sahaydachny and Danielle Weiner at No. 1 doubles. Amanda Bercovici and Campbell McNicol were 8-2 winners over Valeri Harteg and Shannon Littlefield at No. 2, while Kat Cohen and Bethany Daller defeated Chelsea Bush and Meryl Schulman, by an identical score at No. 3.
In singles play, Marshall blanked Sahaydachny, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1. Finnegan was a 6-0, 6-1, winner over Harteg at No. 2, Bercovici beat Weiner, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3, and McNicol defeated Littlefield, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4. Cohen handed Victoria Lussier a 6-3, 6-2 defeat at No. 5, while Daller blanked Katherine Sutton, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6.
