YORK, Pa. – Ursinus handed Franklin & Marshall a 7-2 defeat in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action Saturday afternoon. F&M fell to 1-13, 1-7 CC on the year while the Bears improved to 5-10, 1-7 CC.
F&M picked up victories in the first two single matches for a 3-2 score. Sahaydachny defeated Kurtz 6-1, 5-7, 1-0, to start off singles play. Weiner picked up a 6-1, 7-5, victory over Mara Berzins in the No. 2 spot. The Bears responded by winning the next four matches to secure the win. Harteg fell 7-5, 6-1 to Talavera at No. 3 while Littlefield dropped a 6-2, 6-4, match at the No. 4 singles spot.
Chelsea Bush fell 6-0, 6-2, to Caroline Lipp and Sutton was handed a 6-3, 6-1, defeat at the No. 6 spot.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action Thursday when the Diplomats host Dickinson at 4 p.m.
