LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 10 Johns Hopkins in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Tuesday. The Diplomats fall to 3-5 (0-2 CC), while the Blue Jays improve to 6-4 (3-0 CC).
At No. 2 doubles, Megan FitzMaurice and Dana Sleeper gave the Hopkins team of Andrea Berlinghof and Macie Wilkins all they could handle, but fell just short, 9-7.
In singles play, FitzMaurice and Julia Fiala provided stiff tests to their opponents at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. FitzMaurice was defeated by Courtney Boger 6-3, 6-3, while Fiala dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Lauren Fields.
The Diplomats will be back in CC action on Thursday at Muhlenberg at 4:00 pm.
