Diplomats Remain Perfect in CC Play

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall defeated McDaniel 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action. The Diplomats (4-4, 3-0 CC) remain perfect in CC play, while the Green Terror fell to 5-4, 0-3 CC.

The Diplomats swept the doubles action, with the No. 1 team of Ross Silverberg and William MacArthur and the No. 2 pairing of Tommy Weibye and Nolan Bacchieri both cruising past their opponents 8-1. The No. 3 team of Cameron Relic and Peter Bookman defeated Seth McFall and Daniel Xinis 8-2.

In singles play, F&M picked up wins at five of the six positions to roll the victory. MacArthur, Eric Rouff, Kazuhiro Tomioka, Samuel Stone and Tim Belford each notched straight set wins for the Diplomats. No. 1 MacArthur shut out Steve French 6-0, 6-0, and No. 3 Rouff took down McFall 6-1, 6-2. No. 5 Stone picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win against Matthew Langsdale, while No. 6 Belford knocked down Xinis 6-0, 6-3. At the No. 4 spot, Kazuhiro won the first set 6-2, before edging out Chad Palman in a second-set tiebreaker 7-6 (6-1) to secure the win.

The Diplomats return to the court on Sunday at TCNJ. Match time is set for 12:00 pm.
