LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match and clinched a birth in the upcoming Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament with an 8-1 drubbing of Ursinus on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster. The win improved the No. 11 Atlantic South regionally-ranked Diplomats to 10-3, 6-2 CC on the season, while the Bears fell to 10-6, 2-5 CC. 

The match also marked senior day for F&M's two-member class of Megan FitzMaurice and Dana Sleeper, who both celebrated the event with wins in the contest. FitzMaurice competed at No. 5 singles, rolling to a 6-1, 6-4 victory, while Sleeper teamed with Nicole Russo at No. 2 doubles for an 8-3 decision. 

Russo also cruised at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set win, while Caitlin Rummelsburg cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2. Tara Buchney won each of her sets at No. 4 by 6-2, 7-5 tallies, while Emily Gruenberg wrapped up action with a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (13-11) victory in the super tiebreaker at No. 6. 

F&M swept doubles competition with a team of Sara Haas and Rummelsburg taking an 8-4 win at No. 1, while Buchney and Gruenberg came away with a 9-8 (11-9) marathon victory at No. 3.
