F&M Falls to TCNJ

EWING, N.J. – Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback against TCNJ on Sunday afternoon in non-conference competition. The loss dropped the No. 11 Atlantic South regionally-ranked Diplomats to 10-4 on the season, while Northeast region's No. 16 Lions improved to 12-1.

TCNJ swept doubles action to capture the early 3-0 lead heading into doubles. Nicole Russo remained red hot on the year from the No. 1 spot in the lineup, winning her sixth straight match and improving to 10-5 on the year with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-2) victory. 

F&M fell in straight sets in each of its remaining five singles matchups. Caitlin Rummelsburg battled at No. 2 with a 6-3, 6-4 defeat, while Megan FitzMaurice was edged at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-3 loss.
