F&M Concludes Spring Break Trip at 3-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – A pair of dominating victories put the finishing touches on a successful Florida Spring Break trip for Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team. The Diplomats (4-2) earned an 8-1 win against Macalester on Tuesday and then concluded their 3-0 week with a 9-0 blanking of Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday.

By the Numbers (Macalester)

F&M controlled doubles play with a 3-0 sweep that included an 8-4 victory from the No. 1 duo of Nicole Russo and Allison Wolters, who are ranked at No. 25 in the nation. Singles play was highlighted by a dominant performance from Wolters at the No. 1 spot, as the sophomore did not concede a game in her straight set sweep.

Tuesday's meeting marked the first time in series history these programs squared off.

By the Numbers (Colby-Sawyer) 

Doubles action saw the Diplomats roll to a 3-0 sweep, including a dominant 8-2 effort from the No. 2 duo of C.J. Rummelsburg and Sarah Haas. Singles competition proved to be much of the same as all six positions in the order were decided in straight sets. 

F&M now holds a 2-0 series edge against Colby-Sawyer with the other win occurring back in 2015.
