BALTIMORE, Md. – Franklin & Marshall's women's team dropped an 8-1 match against No. 14 Johns Hopkins on Tuesday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) competition.
The loss snapped an unprecedented 10-match winning streak for the No. 11 Atlantic South regionally-ranked Diplomats (11-3, 7-1 CC), who came into the contest with an unbeaten conference mark.
F&M's overall victory streak dated back to Feb. 19. The Blue Jays, ranked No. 14 in the nation and No. 4 in the Atlantic South, improved to 12-4, 7-0 CC.
By the Numbers
Although the team's winning streak came to an end, Allison Wolters (No. 23 in the Atlantic South) continued her roll at the No. 1 position in the singles lineup, securing her 12th-consecuative victory and remaining a perfect 8-0 in the CC after a 6-4, 6-2 win in straight sets over Sophie Strickland (No. 21 in Atlantic South).
Alex Collins (No. 6) registered a 6-2 win in her opening set before falling in the next two.
