CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team was edged by Washington College on Saturday as they dropped a 5-4 battle with the Shorewomen. The win snapped the Diplomats' run of back-to-back 9-0 sweeps over the previous two weeks.

By the Numbers
Sammi Perry highlighted Saturday's action for F&M as she won a hard-fought three-set battle at No. 2 singles. After falling in the first set, Perry lost just three games the rest of the way to secure her team's fourth point. Her personal comeback included a 6-0 blanking in the decisive third set. Caroline Ulrich and Kayley Burke were awarded wins in singles with the Shorewomen unable to field a full lineup. Ella Mure and Alex D'Angelo did the same at No. 3 doubles. Nevertheless, Washington College was able to overcome that disadvantage and prevail in the Centennial Conference matchup.
