CARLISLE, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall women's tennis cruised past Dickinson 7-2 in a Centennial Conference (CC) matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats (3-5, 2-1 CC) won two doubles matches before sweeping the last five singles matches of the day over the Red Devils (5-4, 0-1 CC).
Working at #2 doubles, Cassidy Landau and Sammi Perry handily beat their opponents 8-1 to grab the first point. After dropping the top doubles match, Caroline Ulrich and Kayley Burke paired for an 8-4 win at #3 to take a 2-1 lead going into singles.
The Red Devils were no match for the Diplomats in the one-on-one session, as Clara March Okuyama and Emily Tsai both recorded double bagel victories at #4 and #6 singles. Jenna Harrison had little trouble at #3, picking up a 6-1, 6-0 win. Sammi Perry and Hayley Bidwell likewise had an easy time, with both only dropping three games - Perry in a 6-3, 6-0 win at #2, while Bidwell won 6-2, 6-1 at #5.
F&M now turns its attention to a massive test in visiting No. 25 Swarthmore on Saturday beginning at noon.
