LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team lost its spring season opener to Johns Hopkins, 9-0, Sunday afternoon. Coming into the season as the CC preseason favorite, the Blue Jays showed they belong at the top with a shutout victory over the Diplomats.
F&M battled in the first doubles match of the day as the pairing of Cassidy Landau and Sammi Perry jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but JHU tallied the next eight points to give the Blue Jays the early team lead. Landau and Perry also gave Johns Hopkins its biggest challenges during their singles matches in the No. 1 and No. 4 positions, but were held off by their respective opponents.
Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back against Vassar Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
