HERSHEY, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team dropped a tough matchup against Centennial Conference (CC) foe Haverford, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at the Hershey Racquet Club. The Diplomats came away with a win at No. 3 singles as sophomore Mackenzie Sherman earned a hard-fought 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) victory.
The win is Sherman's sixth in a row and eighth of the season. The sophomore also won her fourth match in the No. 3 position this spring. Jenna Harrison (No. 2) came up just short in the first set of her singles match as she was outlasted, 7-5. Clara March Okuyama also was edged in her singles bout as the senior fell, 8-6, in the No. 5 singles match.
Franklin & Marshall hosts Ursinus Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
