A Look at the Bracket

F&M is set to battle Cornell for the second time this season after dropping a 5-4 heartbreaker to the Big Red back on Jan. 26th.

Dartmouth (No. 9) headlines the bracket – a team the Diplomats last competed against in 2017 when F&M dropped an 8-1 match. Overall, the Diplomats have found mixed success against the other seven teams in the bracket, holding a 2-2 record on the year against those opponents.

A Look at F&M

F&M enters the weekend with an 18-5 record, already good for the most wins in single-season history after surpassing the 2012-13 squash that went 17-6.

Individuals on the Diplomat ladder have enjoyed immense success in 2019-20 as all nine regulars have obtained winning records and have at least 12 victories on the year.

Sanjay Jeeva headlines the group at the No. 1 position with an impressive 19-4 mark, while Aryan Parekh (No. 2) holds a 12-11 overall record and Yannis Senkel enters at 18-5.

First-year Raunak Advani has accumulated a 15-7 mark between the No.'s 4-7 positions, while classmate Teddy Eill is a staggering 20-1 from the No.'s 5-9 spots in the order. Eill heads into play with an 18-match winning streak.

Flavio Hinostroza is 16-5 from the No.'s 5-9 positions, and King Bassett holds a 13-5 mark from No.'s 6-9. Allen Tompkins is enjoying a 12-1 campaign and a six-match winning streak while Matt Dukarm enters the weekend with a 12-10 mark. Shams Abbas heads into the tournament with wins in four out of his last five contests.

Hoehn Cup History

An annual matchup of the nation's No. 9-16 teams, F&M has won the Hoehn Cup (B Division) Title on three occasions, securing the championship in 1991, 1995, and 1996, and is competing in the bracket for the second straight season.

The Hoehn Cup is named for Edward "Red" Hoehn. Hoehn was hired to coach Dartmouth's men's team in 1938 and guided the Big Green for 25 years. He was inducted into the Men's College Squash Hall of Fame in 1990.
